“They Call Me Pastor” exists to discuss theological issues, defend the Christian faith from false doctrine, and allow me to exercise my mind. As the main title states, it is a collection of thoughts from a heavenly minded theological egg-head.

The main (and only) author of “They Call Me Pastor” is Pastor Steve Spurlin. I pastor Cornerstone Bible Church in Lubbock, TX. I have a PhD in Theology and am just now learning things that I should already know. Alas, Dr. Robert Lightner of Dallas Theological Seminary told me that now that I have a post-grad. degree its time to start learning.

Where did the name of the blog originate? Besides actually being a pastor, I practice a form of Chinese martial arts called Sanshou, a.k.a., Sanda, a.k.a. Sansho. It is based on the Chinese military hand-to-hand fighting system. The coaches at our gym, home of the United States National and Olympic Team, started calling me pastor a couple of years ago. Thus, “They Call Me Pastor.”
